Christmas in the Dining Room

Does anyone else feel like this month is flying by? Since Thanksgiving fell late this year, I knew it was a shortened holiday season. I even started early and yet here I am feeling behind. Today, I had a chance to do a little photo shoot of our dining room decorated for Christmas.

This year, I went very neutral with mixed greenery and silvers throughout our home. I added a faux cedar garland to our mug rack and wrapped it with a silver bell garland for added sparkle.

One of my projects this fall was to build open shelves for our dining room. I challenged myself to do it myself and am happy to say I built and hung them almost entirely myself (blog post to come on how I did it). The only thing my husband helped me with on these is getting precise measurements because I learned I’m not so good with a measuring tape 🙂 I decorated them with antique silver pieces and white ironstone that I picked up from local thrift and antique stores.

For the table centerpiece, I continued the silver and green theme with mercury glass votives and ornaments and a simple centerpiece with fresh greens from Trader Joe’s.

For each place setting, I used galvanized chargers from HomeGoods and antique silverware (some thrifted and some from Anthropologie) to tie in with the rest of the room. The glass goblets are thrifted as well as the salad plates. The napkins are HomeGoods and the napkin rings are Crate and Barrel.

That is our dining room decked out for the holidays!
