13 Dec Christmas in the Family Room – 2018
Hi Friends!
It’s taken me a little longer to get around to posting our family room for Christmas than I had hoped but I’ve got some fun stuff to share.
Every year, I try to change up our tree slightly. Last year, I had an emerald green ribbon and used emerald tones throughout the room to tie it all together. You can see last year’s tree here. This year, I went more neutral alternating white fur ribbon that looks like snow with sparkly champagne ribbon. I also added some sprigs of lamb’s ear which I carried throughout the room.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have caught my stories about gluing logs for our faux fireplace which was part of the reason for posting this a little later.
Back in October, I spotted a fireplace mantle at a local antique shop for a steal! I ended up buying 2 for $40 each. Earlier that week, I had seen a few for over $150 so I jumped at this chance and brought them home. I wanted to create a faux fireplace for our family room to give it more of that cozy feel. I’ll explain more of the details on how we created this in a separate post. It took longer than I expected but my goal was to get it up for Christmas. Success! 🙂
I placed some antique brass candle holders (that I snagged at a thrift store) on the mantle to tie in with this antique gold mirror. The greenery is a mixture of picks/stems; some juniper, lambs ear, & pine. Also, this swag from Purple Rose Home.
I placed greenery on the snow shoe, on the tv stand and inside the barrel (to the left of the tv) that all tie together.
The hoop ring wreaths on the wall that I made last year (you can see that post here) have greenery that ties together with the rest of the greenery throughout the room.
I hope you enjoyed Christmas in our family room! 🙂
